1. umbrellagoatfishoctopus (1999)
for flute, violin, piano

From summer 1999, the last piece in a line of inquiry from 1997-99.
Simultaneous parts with synchronous sections.
Long lines of 19th Century opera melodies.
Title derived from experiments with a lo-fi computer speech synthesis programme.
Subsequently rearranged for flute, trombone and piano, not yet performed in that version.

2. quartet (1999)
for flute, trumpet, piano, rice box

Written in late 1999 for Duo Contour's Duo Collaborations Project.
Coordinated melody instruments with simultaneous percussion part.
First performed 08.06.00 by Duo Contour (Steve Altoft & Lee Ferguson) with Annie Parker & Tim Parkinson @ St Cyprians Church, London UK

3. untitled quartet 2001
for flute, clarinet, cello, piano

5 pages each, performed simultaneously in any order.
Written in autumn 2001. First performed 05.12.01 by Annie Parker, Andrew Sparling, Anton Lukoszevieze, Tim Parkinson @ St Cyprians Church, London UK
